বডি মাস ইনডেক্স বা বিএমআই হচ্ছে শরীরের আদর্শ ওজন নির্ণয়ের একটি গাণিতিক পদ্ধতি। দেহের ওজন ও উচ্চতার ভিত্তিতে এ পদ্ধতিতে আদর্শ ওজন নির্ণয় করা হয়। উচ্চতা অনুযায়ী কারাে ওজন স্বাভাবিক আছে কি না, তা বিএমআইয়ের মানের মাধ্যমে জানা যায় l

নিন্মের ছকের মাধ্যমে আমার পরিবারের সদস্যদের নাম, ওজন ও উচ্চতা লিপিবদ্ধ করে ছকের মাধ্যমে উপস্থাপন করা হলােঃ

এখন প্রত্যেক সদস্যদের বিএমআইমান নির্ণয় করিঃ

আমরা জানি,

বিএমআই = দেহের ওজন ÷ দেহের উচ্চতা(মিটার)²

তাহলে, (০১) আমার পিতার বিএমআই = ৮০÷ (১. ৮)²= ২৪.৭

স্বাভাবিক বিএমআই এর মান থেকে আমরা জানি,
